Accessibility

This page describes the rebuilt site. The previous version of it committed to WCAG 2.0 level AA while the site it described had 41 images with no alt text, buttons with no accessible name, 17 elements failing colour contrast and 27 pieces of text under 12 pixels. It also asked people to report problems to an email address on a domain this hotel does not own. This page states what is actually true, and what is not yet.

What we build to

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA. Every page is tested automatically against that standard at three screen widths — 320, 390 and 1440 pixels — and the build is not released with a known violation outstanding.

That testing covers:

• Text contrast against its background, at AA ratios.
• Alternative text on every image. This is enforced when the site is built: a photograph added without a description fails the build rather than reaching you.
• Keyboard navigation. Every control can be reached and operated without a mouse, and the focused element is always visible.
• Tap targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels for standalone controls.
• Text that scales. Nothing here disables pinch-zoom, and the layout holds when text is enlarged.
• Headings and landmarks in a real order, so a screen reader can navigate the page by structure.

What is not done yet

Automated testing catches a great deal, but not everything. We have not yet completed a manual review with a screen reader.

Getting around the property

Some rooms have easy, direct access to the pool area. The motel does not publish a specific wheelchair-accessible room type, step-free route or pool-lift claim, so please call before booking. Staff will explain the available room and route and help match it to your access needs.
